Art Bead Scene May Challenge

The choice for my first entry at the ABS challenges was not easy; in fact it was so hard that I almost gave up. I must admit that I'm a bit intimidated by the quality and experience of the artist posting there, and I feel I still have a lot to learn and improve about my style.

On the other side, what better way there is to learn swimming than to jump in the water? So here I am jumping forward, and this is my creation for the ABS may challenge.

Rustic Necklace

The focal bead is made by me from polymer clay, as well as the cube beads, and features the floral colors of the painting. The wire addition is matching the brown cooper chain and enhances the floral theme.

Rustic Necklace

The design is simple but vivid, and I decided to call it Rustic Necklace. Even if I am very fond of creating polymer clay flowers, from some reason I felt this design fits better the theme of this month.

Bottom line, creating this necklace I've learned a lot, I've tried different design versions and beads, but in the end I am happy with the results. So I must thank Art Bead Scene's editors for organizing this monthly challenge and helping me getting better.

For this month's picture and all the other beautiful entries you can visit ABS Challenge Flickr Group.
